Irish soprano Zoë Jackson is an award-winning artist known for her natural stage presence and honest, heartfelt delivery. She was the 2024 winner of the Deborah Voigt Opera Prize and Northern Ireland Opera’s Young Opera Voice of the Year. She is also a recipient of the Young Musicians’ Platform Award—awarded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland in collaboration with BBC Northern Ireland and The National Lottery. Zoë recently joined the Ulster Orchestra in a BBC Invitation Concert under the baton of Stephen Bell, performing arias by Puccini, Mozart, and Lehár.
Zoë made her German opera debut in 2024 as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with Lyric Opera Studio Weimar. She returns to Germany this summer to sing Mimì (La Bohème) with Brandenburg Opera Retreat and will be relocating to Berlin to further her career.
A former member of the Northern Ireland Opera Studio (2019–20), Zoë performed the role of Vivian Savory in the Northern Irish premiere of Victor Herbert’s The Enchantress. She has appeared as a soloist at events across Northern Ireland, including the Hamilton Harty Concert at the Hillsborough Oyster Festival, The People’s Concert with Peter Corry, and the Stendhal Festival.
International engagements include the inaugural Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival in Lucca, where she performed Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) and sang Puccini recitals across the city. She also performed the role of Prima Novizia (Suor Angelica) at both Teatro del Giglio (Lucca) and Teatro Alighieri (Ravenna).
As a Rose Opera Young Artist, Zoë has featured in their Rose Opera in Recital series—including A Celebration of Ukrainian Song and Great Opera Composers in Song—and performed as soprano soloist in Schubert’s Der Hirt auf dem Felsen at the prestigious Leighton House. She also covered the role of Nedda in their recent productions of Pagliacci.
Other operatic roles include Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Savitri (Holst’s Savitri), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Vivian Savory (The Enchantress), and Prima Novizia (Suor Angelica). In scenes, Zoë has performed Musetta (La Bohème), Liù (Turandot), and Frasquita (Carmen) with North Wales Opera Studio.
As a concert soloist, Zoë has performed Mozart’s Requiem, Coronation Mass, and Vesperae solennes de confessore, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Fauré’s Requiem, and Duruflé’s Requiem. She has sung with Sestina Baroque Ensemble as a featured soloist in their Irish tour of Music for a Sun King and as a chorus member in Handel’s Theodora. Other chorus work includes Die Fledermaus (Northern Ireland Opera), Tosca (Rose Opera), and Die Zauberflöte (Lyric Opera Studio Weimar).
